Plan a visit to Welkinweir

HOURS The grounds are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.; closing time varies seasonally - please call 610-469-7543 for exact times.

ADMISSION Members are admitted free. Non-members may make a donation at the Visitor Center. All donations support the continued preservation of Welkinweir.

Guided House and Garden Tours for Groups Experience the home as it was built in 1940 onto the ca. 1750 and 1830 farmhouse. Designed by architect Fridtjof Tobiessen to blend the natural beauty of the surrounding land and provide a pleasant background for relaxed country living and entertaining. Stroll the luxurious gardens surrounding the home with fine, mature specimens of rare and unusual trees and shrubs, flowering plants, and water gardens. Plan your group tour to include a delightful garden luncheon served on the terrace (weather permitting) overlooking the pond and valley below. Directions to Welkinweir
Traveling North on Route 100 above the PA Turnpike Exit 312 for Downingtown/Pottstown, follow Route 100 past Route 401 at Ludwig's Corner, and continue 3.7 miles to Prizer Road. Turn left on Prizer Road. Welkinweir is 1 mile on the left.

Traveling South on Route 100 below Pottstown, follow Route 100 past Route 23 at Bucktown. Travel 1.1 miles to Prizer Road. Turn right on Prizer Road. Welkinweir is 1 mile on the left.

Garden Accessibility The terrain at Welkinweir is hilly and and the natural paths uneven, therefore our gardens are not wheelchair accessible. Comfortable outdoor walking shoes, weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended when visiting.
